ABOUT US
The Grand Mah Jongg Club plays according to National Mah Jongg League rules. We generally play in the Hopi Room at the Chaparral Center, with four people to a table. Bring your current NMJL card, $5.00 in change, and your CAM card. We play a five dollar “pie.”
If you lose your five dollars, you may continue to play. Who knows – you may win some or all of your money back! In order to join us, you must already know how to play. However, we do generally give lessons each year, now scheduled in April and May (see News section for dates). You may play up to two times as a guest before becoming a member.
You may arrive or leave at any time during play after you have played a round (4 games) at a table. After you are East, you go to the front of the room and then move to the next available table. This way, you will meet many of the other members and make new mah jongg friends. You do not have to bring your own mah jongg set, only your card.
We also ask all members to volunteer as a monitor at least once a year to check members in on game days/nights.
